Sorry I don't have specific numbers, but I know it will differ depending on your employer (former employer). Contact HR. I think you only have a limited amount of time to apply for it. It can cost anywhere from $300 to $1000 a month. A little crazy unless

Can I still get COBRA health insurance coverage?

I know I have 63 days after I recieve the letter asking me if I want to go on COBRA health insurance coverage to tell them officially whether I want to get COBRA.
If I buy my own individual private insurance before that 63 day period ends,

I'm pretty sure you can. I don't ever remember reading anything saying that you couldn't do that when I was signing up for COBRA.

You can continue the COBRA coverage from your past employer if you choose. However, if the premium is subsidized from the stimulus package you must inform the COBRA administrator that you are eligible for another group plan and you will loose the subsidy.
