Auto insurance direct pay to autobody shop?

I Am uses to my or anyones auto insurance. Cutting them a check. But nationwide said they would do direct pay to a autobody shop if my choice. I like to have the cash in. Hand and pay myself. Can they force me to not recieved a check? And just pay directly

If you want your insurance company to send you the check for the repairs you can have them do that. It's not fraud.

If you have a loan on the car and make payments your insurance company is obligated to put the name of the bank or finance
