Landrover LR2 a good teenager car going off to college.

SUV's are high center of gravity, the LR2 is also a very short wheelbase vehicle. Even with stability control, these vehicles are much less forgiving if you do something stupid or have to perform an emergency maneuver. In my opinion this is a poor vehicle

I need a reliable car, good gas milage and should be froom 1997-2003

From personal experience the best cars are going to be a Toyota Corolla or a Honda Civic hands down. They are good on gas, safe, parts are easy to come by and affordable, almost all mechanics can fix them, and the insurance is going to be reasonable.
