Why does it cost more for a man to get automobile insurance than it does a woman to get car insurance?

I know back in the 80s it was because men were in more car accidents, but nowadays, it's about the same, yet men pay more for their insurance than women do? At least that's the way it works in Canada.

men are known to drive faster and are not as cautious as woman that is what happens when you are a man

If a man and a woman are the ame age, same car, clean driving record, both live in the same city, and every other variable is the same. The only difference is their gender how much more would a man pay?

I pay $19 (USD) a month for my auto insurance. I have a 2006 Nissan and a perfect driving record.


Edit: I have an idea! How about if you fake a rate quote and give all details the same EXCEPT gender and see

My son's insurance was about $30/month more than my daughter's (both 16, drive the same car, etc.).

She never knew when a seizure would strike, be it in a car, or on a flight of stairs, but now her cute little Corgy gives her a  heads up.

"Most days he's a dog that plays and runs,” says Bingler about her 11-month old service dog, Joey.

But when Bingler pulls out Joey's leash, the dog knows it's time to work.

"It's such a relief to have a second set of eyes looking after me," says Bingler.

She says sometimes he knows eight to ten hours before she has a problem.

She says Joey lets her know about an oncoming seizure three ways.  First, he puts his chin or paws on her feet.  If it's more serious, he'll get help from someone in the house.

Just two weeks ago, he alerted Bingler’s personal care provider, Paige Riggs.

"Anytime Aimee has a problem he'll come and get me," says Riggs. "He came down barking.  He jumped up on me, put his feet on my knees, led me all the way upstairs.  I found Aimee was struggling to get off the floor."
