Farmers and Allstate are always hungry for new agents. They give you pretty good support, HOWEVER, if you have no agency experience, you're probably biting off more than you can chew.

If you're thinking about this, I'd strongly suggest


Farmers recruits almost everyone that has posted a resume on Monster or Hot Jobs. If you are new to the insurance business, it's a good way to get your feet wet and learn how it works. However, I see a Farmers Agency about every 1/2 mile down any busy


Zero salary. It's straight commission - you don't sell, you don't get paid. 95% of new agents wash out the first year. Maybe 1 in 1,000 will make six figures the first year. The average, with 60 - 80 hour workweeks, of agents that DON'T wash out,
