South Brunswick Parent Academy Workshop Highlights Teen Driving Safety
21.05.12
According to the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration, car crashes are the number one killer of teens in NJ and nationwide. In an effort to address this disturbing statistic and provide information to help parents make their teen’s safety a priority, the South Brunswick Parent Academy will present a Teen Driving Safety Workshop at South Brunswick High School on March 14.
This 60-minute program will include an overview of the risks teens face behind the wheel, the changes to the Graduated Driver License (GDL) Law and the tools and resources available to assist families in making choices that will help them get through the most dangerous time in their teens’ lives. Safest cars for teens, insurance, tips for partnering with a driving school, and parent-teen contracts are also addressed. The workshop also includes time for a question and answer period with the presenter.
The workshop will be presented by Detective Arnold Anderson, recently retired from the Essex County Prosecutor’s Office Vehicular Homicide Unit. Det. Anderson is a certified Collision Reconstructionist and a recognized expert and instructor in the field of motor vehicle collision investigation.
