- PRODUCT DESCRIPTION: HeatShield - Advanced Windshield Reflector HeatShield is an automotive windshield reflector, "sun shade," or "sun visor," custom designed to fit the shape of each car model's windshield. The HeatShield material is simple and unique. A special metallized polyester film, laminated to a thin layer of closed-cell foam, with a clear polyester film back. HeatShields are custom cut using the latest in computer-aided cutting technology. Then they are sewn around the edge with a cloth binding. So HeatShields are reflective, insulating and custom fit for every car. INSTALLATION HeatShield installation is easy and quick. Lay the Heat Shield across the dash. Lift up to the windshield. Drop the sunvisors for support HeatShield is stiff enough to be supported by the sunvisors alone, but it is flexible enough to be bent around the mirror. Once installed, HeatShield will reduce the interior temperature at the dashboard by as much as 40 deg. F. (25 deg. C.) HeatShields are simple to use, but they are just as easy to store! PRODUCT STORAGE When not in use, store your HeatShield like this: Lift sunvisors and pull HeatSheild down. Roll up from end to end. Wrap the attached Velcro strap

Definitely go with Honda. Great gas mileage, reliable, and will go forever if treated well (many times even if its not).
But, before you modify it, check out some forums to see what you options are, and learn about how the mods will really affect

Not less than 3000 with new parts, 2000 with used parts
It's not just swapping the trans, there is a whole bunch of other things that may or may not be different as well
It would be a lot cheaper to just find a different car...

Is their any way to make my 2001 honda civic go faster without having to buy parts?
take out the passenger seats... and dont put anything in the trunk... This will make your car lighter... which makes it faster.

Honda Civic is 'most talked about' car
21.05.12
The Car Brand Index, by online research firm Spectrum, is an an online and social media analysis of 41 car brands, designed to assess brand visibility, chatter and engagement levels on Facebook and Twitter.
It has created a league table of the cars that are creating the most chatter amongst UK motorists and aims to show the “real impact” of the car industry’s investment in marketing and branding.
The Honda Civic was identified as the “most talked about” car model in the final quarter of 2011, according to the report, followed by the Ford Focus and Honda Accord.
It also found that UK consumers view Chevrolet as the top brand for comfort, Ford as the most innovative, while Toyota is seen as the most environmental.
Ford was also found to be the best car brand for families, and generated more Twitter mentions than any other manufacturer in the final quarter of 2011.
Toyota was among the top five brands on Twitter during the period, but only received 321 Likes on its UK Facebook page, compared to almost 5,000 Likes registered by its rival Volkswagen.
