car safety rating FAQ
Is there a free consumer reports website I can go to so I can find out safety rating on car seats?
Oct 31, 2008 by Shawna Mama | Posted in Newborn & Baby
Consumer reports.com wants you to pay but I keep hearing people say that they are getting consumer reports on certain items...Wheer are they getting them from. Thanks!
You can go to www.choice.com.au
That's the Aussie one which will give you an idea if you can't find a local one. We're pretty mental about safety down here so the only real difference will be that some products might be different.

Where can i go to check my car's safety rating???

I have an 1989 Acura Integra LS
and I Know that http://www.safercar.gov only goes up to 1990
does anybody know a site that has it for older cars???
The Kelly Blue Book site has that information. But not sure how far back. Blue Book does go further than NADA, so you might check.

What is the best car with low insurance costs and the best safety rating for a young 17 yr old learner driver?
Apr 23, 2007 by Rod1883 | Posted in Buying & Selling
I am looking to buy a new, or possibly up to about 3 year old, car for my daughter, soon to be 17, to learn to drive in. The car will be in her name and so I'm looking for something safe, but also as inexpensive to insure as possible.
Has anyone
I would save time and pay for professional tuition then buy a nice car when she passes. Intense courses can be very effective. If you buy a car don't get a fiat cinqaciento as they are very poor in crash ratings. A vauxhall corsa 1.0 12 valve will

The Toughest Cars On The Road For 2012
21.05.12
We depend on our cars to get us from Point A to Point B with a minimum of difficulty. Some cars do it with style; some cars do it efficiently. Some cars are tough, and perform their duties dependably and safely, day in and day out, year in and year out. Tough cars weather all conditions and soldier on without complaint, while less tough cars seem to crave attention from their favorite mechanics. Steve Mazor of the Automobile Club of Southern California ‘s Automotive Research Center (ARC) has a theory about where a car’s toughness originates. “I’m not sure how much is the cost of the car itself and how much is the owner of the car, how they take care of the car, and the way they drive it,” says Mazor. ARC has compiled a short list of the most common causes cited in towing incidents for his company from May 15, 2008 to November 15, 2010: Fuel pump; alternator; battery; starter; radiator; transmission; and hoses. Each cause might be avoided by the actions of a diligent owner who toughens up a car with preventative vehicle maintenance.
